Emmy (Emma Bejanyan) was selected internally to represent Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. Composers from all over the world sent their songs to ArmTv television station and four songs were chosen from more than 70 compositions received. On March 12th the national selection took place and the song “Boom-Boom” came out victorious. This year 43 countries will participate in this music competition. Armenia will participate in the first semifinal that will be held on May 10th with the final taking place on May 14th in Düsseldorf, Germany. The career of Emmy, born in Armenia in 1984, began with a video of the song Hayastan in 1993 and continued with her winning several international awards in Armenia, Russia, Turkey and other countries. She has her own music production company that promotes young talent in Armenia. She has already began the tour presentation of her song “Boom-Boom”. All the Armenian representatives at Eurovision have passed the semifinals so far and were always placed in the top 10. We wish her good luck and we hope that Armenians living abroad all over Europe will support her by voting as they did for Armenia in the past 5 years of this song competition which has helped Armenia finish in high positions.
