Victor Pambuccian was elected member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia
On December 28, 2011 Prof. Dr. Victor Pambuccian from theArizonaStateUniversitywas elected member of the National Academy of Sciences of theRepublicofArmenia. In the same meeting, 21 other personalities from the Science field were chosen from the Diaspora to be part of the academic forum ofArmenia.
Victor Pambuccian (born inRomania) is a Doctor in mathematics and currently he teaches at theArizonaStateUniversity- West Campus.
He had since his first trip to Armeniain 1999, the initiative to found a prize for mathematicians under the age of thirty-five years old, “The Emil Artin Junior Prize in Mathematics”. This prize is given for an article of mathematics, written in a Western European language (English , French, German) and published in a leading international journal. As an Armenian living in the USA and jugding by what I have heard about Armenia, I think this guy is very brave to do what he is doing. I also feel that he is asking for trouble, but I also believe that this is the way that the tired, soviet mentality of Armenia can change so that other Armenians can start moving to Armenia and doing the same things and making the country grow and expand our borders. In this sense he is a visionary who just might succeed in starting a trend to end corruption, whereby the victims can actively fight for their rights.

Yes, Victor Pambuccian is the son of the Professor of Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine in Bucharest, Krikor Pambuccian (who, however, was never Dean of the Faculty of Medicine),
