“New Names” and Talented Kids
Not only adults, but also kids can fight for their success. Recently, took place the opening of the 6th International Festival of Young Performers “New Names” ceremony at the Komitas Chamber.
The International Festival of Young Performers brings together talented young people, allowing them to present their skills, identify talent, and most importantly, a serious examination before an audience of music lovers and professional musicians. This time the participants were from Armenia, Russia, Germany, France, Malta, South Korea, USA, Canada, Bulgaria, Georgia – musicians, international and national competitions and festivals multiple laureates, scholarships of various foundations. The young musicians performed with the Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Armenia lead by conductors Alan Kirkopi (Malta) and Harutyun Arzumanyan.
“I am very happy to be part of this wonderful event and play on the violin with my peers and meet musicians from different parts of the globe. Thanks to my professor Karmen Derenikovna and my parents now I am here. This is only a start. The real results will come soon,” – says Asya Anisimova, an Armenian young violinist.
The event was initiated and organized by the Armenia “New Names” program (directed by the “Cultural Workers Association” President, Honored Worker of Culture Silva Mekinyan), as well as the Ministry of Culture of Armenia, the National Philharmonic (artistic director and chief conductor Eduard Topchyan) and Armenian Chamber Choir (artistic director and chief conductor Vahan Martirosyan), also supported by VivaCell-MTS.
